A produção de habitações destinadas à população de baixa renda resulta, muitas vezes, em desperdícios no processo construtivo, devido à baixa conectividade entre os componentes envolvidos nos sistemas adotados.
The production of low-income housing has resulted, very often, in materials wastage during its construction, mainly as a result of the lack of connectivity among the components used within the adopted systems. Therefore, the aim of this work is to suggest the use of modular coordination and connectivity principles to the production of bricks with a view to the reduction of waste production in the practice. Method of inquiry / approach: Data were mainly gathered from local brick makers (ceramic and concrete) regarding its dimensions, as well as from local building material retailers of bricks, ceramic tiles, doors and windows located in Maceió-AL, in order to map out the building materials used in the construction industry in the State of Alagoas.
